Thankfully I was able to exceed my monthly debt payoff goal of $1k this month! Like I mentioned in a previous post, I was a bit worried because of upcoming wedding expenses. I’ll have to admit, there was a change in my expenses which helped me reach this goal. That had to do with my fiance and I getting legally married. We got married at the beginning of April but it wasn’t until this month that I was able to join his health insurance plan and get rid of my monthly $200 health insurance payment. Our religious wedding ceremony is at the end of July but we decided it was a good idea to get legally married sooner so we can start taking advantage of this savings. So excited to be able to add those extra $200 to my debt snowball each coming month!
Now onto the numbers.
In May I was able to completely eliminate all of my credit card debt! I was so anxious to get rid of that debt because I felt stupid for ever getting into it in the first place.
Next month’s goals:
I’m about a month and a half away from my wedding day so I’m trying to take it easy with everything. There is a lot going on and I don’t want to stress out these last few weeks before the wedding. Because of this I won’t be setting any goals for the month of June or July.
New items in the shop!
Sometimes when I get frustrated and impatient with this debt payoff journey I like to remind myself of the reason why I’m doing this. I love how Dave Ramsey sums it up with the quote: “Live like no one else, so that later you can give and live like no one else.” So I created a decal that says “Live like no one else” and placed it on my laptop where I can see it while I work on my budget and these reports. If you’re interested in getting one you can find them in by clicking on the shop!
