February 2017 Debt Payoff Report

February 2017 Debt Payoff Report

Happy Friday!

While I was creating February’s report I realized that I’ve been posting these Debt Payoff Reports for over a year now! I didn’t mind putting these reports together but lately it’s become my favorite thing to do. I get excited that another month has passed and that I’m that much closer to achieving debt freedom. As I look back at my first reports I can see how much I’ve improved on this journey.

Below is a detailed report of the current status of my debts and how much I paid off in the month of February. My goal for March is to get down to $15.2k which I believe is doable taking into account that I will be receiving three paychecks this month.

FINANCIAL GOALS FOR 2017
My big goal for 2017 is to be DEBT-FREE and start saving up for a house. I’m getting married in about 4.5 months so it will be interesting to see how my finances will change. Fortunately my fiancé has no debt and is on-board with a debt-free lifestyle.  We’ve talked about our next steps after getting married and both agree that the best thing to do is focus on paying off my debt then save up for a house.  We will be following Dave Ramsey’s recommendation of putting down 20%  on a 15 year mortgage making sure our monthly payments are a quarter of our take home pay.

What are your financial goals for 2017?

After being introduced to the Total Money Makeover book by Dave Ramsey she completely changed her views on personal finance and decided to stop borrowing money and focus on becoming debt free. She is Debt Free as of October 2017.
